12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)
We should not be passively standing by while satan launches his attacks on us and our Christian family. In Ephesians 6:12 we are giving a depiction of a great battle taking place. We are at war, fighting against the enemies of this dark world. The bible states that satan is the god of this dark world and when we believed in Christ we became a warrior behind enemy lines for Him.
Right about now you may be asking yourself, how can I fight what I cannot see? I’m telling you that you can see it. Every time you see sin in the world, or a brother or sister in Christ struggling you are seeing the unseen evil’s manifested in our physical existence. When you see schools and government discarding God from their buildings and cultures you are seeing the unseen evil. When you see anything in this world that is not of Jesus then you are witnessing evil manifest and you are not only called to identify it but to fight against it!
13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:13-17)
Stand your ground! Christ provided us with all the necessary weapons to engage the enemy with. Think about this for a moment, when a soldier is at war in a foreign land does he not wake up every morning and put on his armor for protection before doing anything else? It should be the same standard procedures for us, should it not? For the saved are all called to be Warriors for Christ! We are citizens of heaven where our true home is. This world is not our home. It is a foreign land. It is a battlefield! Fight the good fight!
We must stop letting the enemy push us around. Stand up for yourself! Stand up for your family! Stand up for Christ!
