19 It is pleasant to see dreams come true, but fools refuse to turn from evil to attain them. (Proverbs 13:19)
One night in 2004 I had a dream that I was sitting in my house when I heard a deafening noise come from the east. I jumped up from my seat and ran to the window to look outside. I could not believe what my eyes were seeing. I saw two pearly white stair cases with gold out lining suspended in the air in front of a darkened sky. I could see the bottom of the stair cases just over the tree line in my backyard and they both extended to what seemed like the heavens. As my eyes followed the stair cases up from the tree line to heaven, I could see thousands and thousands of people dressed in all white clothing making their ascension up the stair cases. The roof over hang outside my window was blocking my view from seeing what was at the top of the stair cases but my heart knew what I would find at the top if I could just get a better view. I quickly turned from the window and yelled to my wife who was in the room with me “He’s Here!” I then leaped into a full sprint towards the back door of my house to make my way outside. As I was running toward the back door my wife yelled “But you have no shoes on” and I yelled back “I don’t care!” (She’s even nagging me in my dreams).
It had only been about twenty seconds since I first heard the loud noise when I made it to my backyard, but it felt like an eternity. Standing barefoot in the yard I looked up and saw Jesus sitting on his throne at the top of the two stair cases. He shined so bright that it was like he was sitting on the sun but it did not hurt my eyes to look. His light lit up the eastern sky as he was welcoming all those who were dressed in white. As I stared up at Him, I started to almost hyperventilate as I kept repeating over and over again “He’s finally here!” In the midst of all that was happening and the overwhelming joy that I felt, I suddenly thought to myself, its to late for them. Its to late for those who did not believe, and in what should have been the most exciting and happy time of my life, I felt my heart sink for those who would never step one foot onto the white stair cases. Thats when I woke up…
When I awoke and found that it was all just a dream I felt blessed and disappointed at the same time. What I thought was my knew reality was only an awesome dream. One day this dream will come true and being in the presence of Christ will be a reality. The problem is when this dream comes true for me, it will be a nightmare for many who do not dream the dream of dreamers.
We need to pray for those who are stuck in a nightmare. We need to ask God to turn the world into dreamers. Theres only one thing better then waking up from an awesome dream and that is when your dreams come true.
Verse of the day:
44 You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected. (Matthew 24:44)
Challenge of the day:
Today I challenge you to read Matthew chapter 24 in the bible. In this chapter, you will see what Jesus himself says about the end times and when you can expect to see him return.
